BME Voluntary and Community Sector Workers Research Project

Influencing and developing training and learning opportunities for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) workers in the Voluntary and Community Sector

The Federation for Community Development Learning was commissioned by the Workforce Development Hub to carry out a survey of the training and learning needs to support the skills development of Black and minority ethnic workers, paid and unpaid, in the voluntary and community sector across England. We have now produced a report from this research.

Thanks to everyone who completed our online questionnaire and made this report possible: over a hundred people responded. Your responses contribute to an England wide picture of the training needs, as well as the obstacles encountered by Black and minority ethnic workers in the sector when attempting to access appropriate learning and training programmes.

The findings of the survey will be used to inform the Workforce Development Hub policy development in support of the Black and minority ethnic workers in the voluntary and community sector.

Download the report.
