Joining the Federation

How do I join?

There are several ways to complete an application. You can:

  • Download the membership application form as a pdf, as a Word document, or in large print (this is in Word format), or
  • Request a copy of the application form from the Federation. Contact Us.

Once you have returned your completed form, together with the appropriate membership fee, a representative of the Federation may contact you to find out more about what you do. If you have any queries about the application process, or are not sure whether you should apply for Full or Associate membership, please contact the Federation staff who will be happy to help: contact us.

Types of membership

FULL membership of the Federation is available to community/voluntary groups who are involved in providing, delivering or promoting community development and community development learning and training and who meet the Federation's criteria for Full membership.
ASSOCIATE membership of the Federation is available to statutory and private sector organisations who have an interest in and commitment to community development and community development learning and training and who meet the Federation's criteria for Associate membership.
INDIVIDUAL membership and SUBSCRIBER membership is also available.

Membership fees [revised Nov 2007] 
Full membership:
Community and Voluntary Organisations and Networks

Income less than £100,000: £25
Income between £100,000 - £250,000: £50
Income between £250,000 - £750,000: £75
Income over £750,000: £100

Associate Membership:

Statutory/Public/Private: £100
Individual (annual income less than £15,000): £10
Individual (annual income £15,000 or more): £20

Subscriber:

Organisations from any sector: £75
