What
does membership entitle me to?
Go straight to How to Join
Membership Criteria
To decide if this is relevant for you, please read the
membership criteria.
The
Federation network
We will put you in touch with other Federation members when you
want help or information on training issues - or just some moral
support. We will tell you if there is a Community Work Training
Group or other training network in your area that you can link into.
Through the network you will be able to participate in discussions
about national training developments and issues and to help shape
the future of community development training.
Newsletters
and information mailings
You will receive our newsletter, Federation News, as well as other
information mailings from the Federation as part of your membership
fee, containing up to date information on national training issues,
what other members are doing, where to get help and support for
your training and much more. You will also receive new information
sheets as they are produced. Full members receive up to 3 copies
of all information items; Associate members receive 1 copy. Reduced
cost individual subscriptions and bulk order subscriptions are available
for further copies.
Conferences
and events
You will be entitled to attend all appropriate Federation events
and will receive priority notice if these are open to non-members.
You will receive a reduction on any fees payable.
Federation
publications
You will get a reduction on the cost of all Federation publications.
And if you have a piece of training work that needs written up we
may be able to help you turn it into a new Federation publication.
Information
service and library
You can call or write to the Federation staff at any time to ask
for information or advice on training issues, useful contacts or
to find out what is happening nationally. You will have access to
the Federation's training resources library, in person or by telephone
enquiry.
Ubuntu
Ubuntu is a national training network for Black and Minority Ethnic
practitioners supported by the Federation. Members are welcome to
join and participate in the events and work of Ubuntu. The Federation
has in the past worked with other interest groups, such as the Accreditation
Group.
Participating
in the work of the Federation
You will be entitled to play an active role in directing the work
of the Federation through participating in and voting at General
Meetings. Both Full and Associate members have voting rights, though
our voting system is weighted in favour of the Full membership.
Members can also get involved in the Federation's Management Group.
