FCDL General Meeting

Dialogue for Collective Action - the role of Community Development Learning in addressing race inequality

date: Friday 15th May 2009 10.00am - 3.30pm
venue: The Orange Studio (now just 'The Studio') 7 Cannon Street , Birmingham, B2 5EP

Once again the Federation for Community Development Learning (FCDL) is hosting our mid- year General Meeting and see this event as an excellent opportunity for members and allies to come together to explore emerging policies, evidence of current practice and decide on future action.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss the current opportunities and challenges facing the wider field of community development work and the specific issues around promoting, providing and sustaining community development learning provision.
Future and current work being carried out as part of our Improving Reach programme will also form part of the themes, as well as the Communities and Local Government's (CLG) discussion paper: "Tackling race inequalities." We are excited to agree on a collective response to this paper, in a way which reflects the current themes and issues within community development practice and learning.
